Shoes as Fine Art… whah???
So, my first project for Photo II is a still-life (well, 3 of them) and I chose to photograph a…
SHOE!!!
Haha, yeah, I know I’m weird. Anyway, I did a shoot and showed my professor, and he said, “eh, make it better” …so I did!
I still like the original picture, but the second one really portrays it as “fine art” – at least, I think so, and I’m the only one that counts
So, what do y’all think?! Let me know!

I love it!
Thank you!
Well, I think that maybe the definition of the shoe is crisper in the first one, but overall quality is definitely better in the second photograph, and I love the lighting. So great.
I agree, but my professor asked me to to soften the look, so that the emphasis was on color
Yeah, I like the lighting too- window lighting
I was wondering, did you filter the light at all? Or is it just natural sunlight?
I used window light, but it was near sunset and the window was facing the east, so there were no bright rays. I then used Camera Raw in Photoshop to brighten the background and fade out detail. The first picture was done using flash, though.
